"Do this in remembrance ~ ἀνάμνησις ~ of Me" Luke 22.19. ἀνάμνησις ~ "remembrance" or "again to put into mind" ~ is not simply a recollection of a distant moment of the past, but a unique "re"participation in the eternity of the moment.

Photography literally means "drawing (γραφή ~ graphé) with light (φῶς ~ phōs)". The Transfiguration of Christ on Mount Tabor (Matthew 17:1–9, Mark 9:2-9, Luke 9:28–36) reveals the temporal and natural in the Light of what was and is and always will be.

Vladimir Sergeevich Solovyov (1853-1900) was a Russian philosopher, theologian and poet, who defined Beauty as the perceptible embodiment of Goodness and Truth, even as glimpses of Divine Sophia, the Holy Wisdom of God. His contemporary and friend Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevskii prophesied that such "Beauty will save the world."

In the spirit of Christ's ἀνάμνησις and Transfiguration on Mount Tabor and Solovyov's Beauty, ἀνάμνησις humbly seeks to inspire the quest for Divine Truth, Goodness & Beauty by capturing the light of these eternal "first things" through fine art photography and printing, pilgrimage and prayer.

All sales and exhibits support the efforts of the Orthodox and Catholic Churches and ministries that are photographed.

"Lifting up His eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed saying: ‘ I pray not only for these, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word, so that they may all be one, as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And I have given them the glory You gave me, so that they may be one, as We are One, I in them and You in Me, that they may be brought to perfection as one, that the world may know that You sent Me, and that You loved them even as You loved Me."

John 17.1,20-23

Ne Evacuetur Crux!
“Do not empty the Cross of its power” cf. 1 Corinthians 1:17:

A dialogue to support reunification between the Ancients Sees of Faith: Rome, Constantinople, Moscow, Jerusalem, Alexandria & Antioch

“Dearly beloved, we have this common task: we must say together from East and West: Ne evacuetur Crux! (cf. 1 Cor 1:17). The cross of Christ must not be emptied of its power because if the cross of Christ is emptied of its power, man no longer has roots, he no longer has prospects: he is destroyed! This is the cry of the end of the 20th century. It is the cry of Rome, of Moscow, of Constantinople. It is the cry of all Christendom: of the Americas, of Africa, of Asia, of everyone. It is the cry of the new evangelization.”

“The light of the east has illumined the universal church, from the moment when ‘a rising sun’ appeared above us (Luke 1:78): Jesus Christ, our Lord whom all Christians invoke as the redeemer of man and the hope of the world… Since, in fact, we believe that the venerable and ancient tradition of the eastern churches is an integral part of the heritage of Christ’s church, the first need for Catholics is to be familiar with that tradition, so as to be nourished by it and to encourage the process of unity in the best way possible for each. My gaze turns to the Orientale Lumen!”

Pope John Paul II in Orientale Lumen

We also hope our efforts promote the healing of the Great Schism between the Orientale and Occidentale Lumina as longed for by V.S. Solovyov and Pope John Paul II.
